2004 ACS Annual Meeting Highlights 
 

The 2004 Annual Meeting of the ACS was held at the French-American Victory Club in Waltham, MA on October 31st. The following are some highlights of the day...

New Officers Elected for 2005
ACS members elected the following slate of new officers of the society for 2005: President - Bruce M. Caissie; Vice President - Jeannine M. Caissie; Secretary - Joan F. Vermette; and Treasurer - Anthony L. Olson. In accordance with ACS bylaws these officers will serve a one year term commencing January 1st, 2005. Congratulations to all, and sincere thanks for their service to our society.
 

Waltham Mayor Delivers Proclamation Welcoming ACS
Her Honor, Jeannett McCarthy, Mayor of Waltham was a special guest at the society's annual business meeting. The Mayor presented outgoing President Dennis Boudreau with a proclamation welcoming the society to Waltham. The proclamation read: "Be it hereby proclaimed that I, Jeannett A. McCarthy, Mayor of the City of Waltham, extend official greetings from the citizens of Waltham to The Acadian Cultural Society at its 20th Annual Meeting. Given this 31st day of October, 2004 at The French-American Victory Club 193 Elm Street, Waltham, Massachusetts"
   
Ben Levine presents: Réveil - Waking Up French
Following the business portion of the annual meeting, Maine filmmaker Ben Levine presented his documentary film
Reveil - Waking up French. Réveil-Waking Up French is a powerful documentary film that explores the struggle for cultural survival among the French-Canadian, Franco-American communities of New England. At the conclusion of the film, Mr. Levine led a discussion on the audiences reaction to the film and the issues it presents.
