What is the Acadian Cultural Society?

The Acadian Cultural Society is a non-profit organization based in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Many Acadians migrated to this area of the United States in the latter part of the nineteenth century, and early part of the twentieth century. As descendents of this particular ethnic group, we exist in the New England area to help people research their ancestry, and to promote Acadian culture and history through our quarterly publication
Le Réveil Acadien as well as through our society meetings and workshops.

Over the past years, we have made it our objective to gather and maintain a collection of historical and genealogical resources, placing them in the care of the City of Fitchburg (our home base)These resources, housed at the Fitchburg Public Library, can be consulted by those interested in their roots or heritage.

We encourage and invite all who may be of Acadian descent or who may be interested in the Acadian experience to
join our ranks.
